Off upcoming album: Madrid
Didn't really plan on releasing this single.. Sometimes I write songs just to capture the moment i'm in at the time, then figure out later if I want to do anything with it. This was one of em. On the way back from a weekend with friends in South Padre Island, I was reflecting on the year and all the adventures we've shared and pulled out my phone and just started jotting down ideas. Not sure if u can "jot" on your phone, but I think I was jotting. When I got back to San Antonio, I met up with theDMG who laid down some congas. Then a few days later, my man Ryan "50 shades of" Shortt came by the studio and helped me tie all the loose ends together with guitar, lapsteel, and those dreamy vocals you hear toward the end. Also had Austin drop by and throw some ideas around on bass. We shared a raw version with buddies aaaaaaand they seemed to like it, so we thought we'd share with ya'll.
I was asked if we should consider release in spring but in this case, it felt good to release our 2012 recap before the new year, so we hooked up with Grammy Award winning Ace 1 and he made it happen! Hope you like it!
